Special Olympics Ontario is a non-profit,charitable organization dedicated to providing year-round sports training and competition opportunities for individuals with an intellectual disability. Its primary instrument of program delivery is through community sports clubs.
As part of the international Special Olympics movement,the Kawartha Lakes Branch of Special Olympics Ontario is committed to providing much-needed physical education programs to many local athletes. Every facet of the programs,from administration to coaching,is run by dedicated volunteers.
